An Update From The Infirmary

Oh, man. This junk is just kicking my butt.

The congestion bug that I caught from Sophie seems to have morphed into something else. Something that involves fits of coughing (the kind that makes you feel like you can't catch your breath), non-stop chills (I'm on Day Seven of wearing three-four layers of clothing and still shivering to death), and the complete and utter absence of energy. I'm pretty sure my blood has been drained and replaced with molasses. Every time I make a trip to the bathroom, I feel like I need to stop for a nap half-way there.

The doctor this morning drew some blood and declared it to be "something viral, most likely the flu". Which either means I've never had the flu, or the flu this year is a new kind of nasty.

Yep. That's all the sitting up I can muster. I have to resume my position in a ball on the floor.

Oh my...the word "infirmary" brought back memories of boarding school and being quarantined whenever you had something lovely like that. Ick. Sorry you have such nasty germs. Hope and pray your body kicks butt back soon!

Yep, I had it, and was not completely over it until 10 days later. I had to take off work a few days it was so bad. The coughing was the worst, and persisted for several days. Sorry to hear that you have it. I'm surprised you even posted a blog feeling that bad. But I think everyone's always glad when you do post! Good luck, and get rest, and get better soon!!

Are you still alive? I am missing your posts. Get better soon!

Hope you get better soon. Gretchen and her sister, Shannon, had something like that. The doctors called it "Bronchitis!" Sounds much more likely to be that than the stinkin flu! I, of course, know better than your doctor...

Bless your heart! I had the same thing, too. And this week my family is battling a violent stomach thing. I got a kinder, gentler version, thank goodness. But my poor boy...though he was going to need IV. Rest, rest, rest, girl! My doc. says this year's bugs are particularly nasty, so it's not your imagination. Hope you feel better soon. We miss you! I'm sorry you're sick Kristy. And it probably is the flu - and yes, it's a new kind of nasty this year. I had it and it lasted 3 treacherous weeks. Take care of yourself!!!

Sweets,

It looks like Rob needs a fix of your storytelling. I am sure there are several people that feel the same way.

Aack! We're sitting on the edge of our beds rocking back and forth waiting for the next installment. Withdrawal is no fun. Russ speaks true! Seriously, hope you're on your way to recovery. Lisa

Kristy? Kris-ty? Kris-TEEEY?! That's how I find my kids when I haven't heard from them in too long a time. Thought I'd try it here. Get better! And I hope you have a good Easter. :)

Hey Krist! I haven't checked in in awhile and I'm sorry to see you must be really, really sick because you've been gone for awhile, too! Hope you are feeling better soon. But your post made me wonder--do you still sleep with the fan on when you have 3-4 layers of clothes level of chills?

This is the first night I have seen your lasagne post, too. Back when we were in college and I visited your parents' house with you one weekend, your Mom made lasagne, similar, but without a couple of ingredients that you used, and that's how I've been making it since. I had forgotten that until I saw your post.
